# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It tastes indulgent but uses fruit and yogurt so you can eat it for breakfast without guilt.
  • The spices make your kitchen smell incredible and the leftovers get better after a day in the fridge.
02 -
  • Dont skip removing the whole spices before serving because biting into star anise is unpleasant.
  • If the compote looks too dry while cooking add a splash more orange juice or water to keep it saucy.
03 -
  • Toast the nuts in a dry skillet until fragrant before chopping them, it makes a huge difference in flavor.
  • If you like your compote thicker uncover the pan for the last five minutes of cooking to let the liquid reduce.
