03 - Whisk melted butter and sugar in a large bowl until well combined. Add eggs one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and mashed bananas.
04 - Add dry ingredients to wet mixture in two additions, mixing gently between additions. Stir in milk until just incorporated. Avoid overmixing to prevent tough texture.
05 - Fold chocolate chips into batter. Pour into prepared loaf pan and sprinkle additional chips on top if desired.
